The leadership in Tashkent reportedly reviewed several urban development projects aimed at modernizing local neighborhoods and improving the overall city environment. Officials emphasized the need to upgrade public infrastructure and address long-standing issues within residential districts.

Specifically, a comprehensive renovation project covering the 'Vatandosh', 'Mohinur', 'Al-Bukhari', and 'Tong' mahallas in the Yashnabad district was presented. Spanning 75 hectares and housing over 18,000 residents, the project is allegedly centered around the popular '15-minute mahalla' urban planning concept.

The proposed framework supposedly seeks to place retail outlets, service centers, educational institutions, and recreational zones within a short walking distance for local inhabitants. Plans also include expanding green spaces, building pedestrian pathways, and upgrading existing utility networks.

Authorities claim that under this urban strategy, approximately 100 mahallas are slated for comprehensive modernization by 2027, with the target expanding to 400 mahallas by 2030. Additionally, a foreign-backed commercial hub project named 'Uchtepa city' was proposed for the Uchtepa district.
