Uzbekistan's Nasaf football club faced a disappointing 1-2 defeat at home against the UAE's Al-Wahda during the second matchday of the AFC Champions League 2 group stage. The encounter, hosted at the Central Stadium in Qarshi, slipped away from the hosts as they struggled to capitalize on their opportunities against a clinical opponent.
The first half was dominated by the visitors, largely due to the standout performance of Al-Wahda's Facundo Krupsky, who netted two precise long-range goals to put his side comfortably ahead. Nasaf had a golden opportunity to get back into the game before halftime after being awarded a penalty, but goalkeeper Abduvohid Nematov failed to convert from the spot as the opposition keeper made a crucial save.
Early in the second half, Ruzikul Berdyev's side showed renewed aggression, pulling a goal back in the 47th minute when Sardorbek Bakhromov unleashed a long-range shot that deflected into the back of the net. Despite creating several promising scoring opportunities as the game wore on, the hosts lacked the necessary composure and accuracy in the final third.
Following this setback, Nasaf sits third in the group standings with just one point, while Al-Wahda leads the pack comfortably with six points. Nasaf will look to revive their tournament campaign when they return to their home turf on October 28 to face Kuwait's Al-Kuwait.
