The authorities in Uzbekistan have officially launched a comprehensive business registration campaign, which is scheduled to run through November 30. Under government resolution No. 557, a detailed framework of measures has been approved to oversee and execute this extensive economic data collection effort.

The census aims to encompass a wide array of economic entities, ranging from legal corporate bodies and individual entrepreneurs to dehkan farms, self-employed individuals, and entities purportedly operating without official registration. Such sweeping measures are designed to map the actual landscape of the domestic business sector.

Regarding operational logistics, legal entities are mandated to register independently via hisobot.stat.uz, while self-employed citizens must utilize the census.stat.uz platform. At the grassroots level, local khokim assistants equipped with electronic tablets are tasked with data collection. In neighborhoods lacking a khokim assistant, this responsibility falls to members of the local administrative teams.

Field workers engaged in the census will reportedly receive one-time financial incentives funded through World Bank-backed projects, provided they achieve a full and accurate coverage of their assigned zones. Furthermore, state agencies and enterprises with a state stake exceeding 50 percent are required to ensure the timely registration of all subordinate entities.

Data gathering procedures are conducted daily from 09:00 to 18:00 directly at the operational sites of the economic units. Authorities claim that respondent data will remain strictly confidential and will be utilized exclusively for statistical purposes. A dedicated call center with the short code 1851 has been established for inquiries, and the final results of the census are expected to be published on the official website of the National Statistics Committee by September 1, 2027.
