The implementation of a National Program designed to establish safe and respectful labor conditions has officially commenced in Uzbekistan. The development and subsequent execution of this initiative are reportedly being coordinated by the Human Capital Development Project Office under the Presidential Administration.
Purportedly, the program focuses on protecting employees' rights and dignity, preventing instances of harassment, violence, and discrimination. Furthermore, the framework is claimed to establish more efficient mechanisms for reviewing appeals regarding workplace infractions.
Practical tasks for implementing the program were discussed in Tashkent during a gathering attended by representatives of state bodies, the diplomatic corps, international organizations, and development partners, with approximately 70 participants in attendance.
Opening remarks at the event were delivered by Supreme Court Chairperson Robakhon Mahmudova, Human Capital Development Project Office Chief Coordinator Nozimakhon Davletova, UNFPA Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Nigina Abasazade, and other officials who emphasized the transition of legislative guarantees into functional practical mechanisms.
