Air Quality (AQI)

Amid ongoing social media debates regarding international air quality index data, relevant government agencies in Uzbekistan have issued a detailed explanation emphasizing the necessity of a comprehensive approach to evaluating atmospheric conditions. Experts point out that current index metrics merely capture momentary snapshots and fail to independently identify the direct root causes and sources of pollution.

Atmospheric conditions are heavily influenced by vehicular emissions, industrial facilities, heating systems, and varying weather patterns, meaning analytical conclusions must rely on thorough assessments of pollutant concentrations. Under the framework of the nationwide 'Clean Air' project and recent presidential decrees, authorities are actively implementing measures to reduce harmful emissions and promote energy-efficient solutions.

Substantial focus is directed toward the environmental adaptation of greenhouse farms, particularly in the greater Tashkent region. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev previously reviewed proposals to introduce a special ecological regime in Tashkent and five surrounding districts, which entails transitioning greenhouses to clean energy sources, installing dust and gas purification equipment, and providing financial backing for businesses.

The Ministry of Agriculture continues to provide consultative support to agricultural workers, clarifying installation protocols for advanced multi-stage filters and carbon monoxide monitoring systems. The agency formally refuted social media claims alleging that the equipment installation is being conducted under a forced mandate, stressing that all initiatives rely on open dialogue, business protection, and strict adherence to environmental laws.
