Air Quality (AQI)

Modern automated stations designed to continuously monitor atmospheric air quality have been installed in the adjacent areas of the international airports in Fergana and Samarkand. The newly deployed equipment is intended to measure the concentration of polluting gases and fine particulate matter around the clock.

According to data provided by Uzbekistan Airports JSC, the monitoring station in Fergana was installed on October 15, while the setup and calibration procedures in Samarkand were completed on October 9. Officials claim that similar environmental stations are planned to be deployed near other airports across the country in the future.

The technological equipment is being positioned directly within the sanitary-protection zones of the airports. These devices measure the concentrations of nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide, alongside hazardous fine particulate matters such as PM2.5 and PM10.

In addition to chemical and particulate analysis, the integrated system simultaneously records ambient air temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, and wind direction. This comprehensive meteorological tracking is supposed to provide a broader context for local environmental assessments.

The measurement results are purportedly transmitted automatically to the unified geoinformation database of the environmental monitoring system. This digital mechanism is designed to track how air quality fluctuates around these transportation hubs in real time.
