According to a government decree issued on October 13, business entities in Uzbekistan are no longer required to obtain an advertising space passport for informational signage bearing their names. The Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection officially announced these regulatory updates.

Under the new provisions, information detailing a company's name and specialization placed on the exterior or entrance of a business building—including trademarks and service marks—will no longer be classified as outdoor advertising objects. This adjustment aims to alleviate administrative burdens on local enterprises.

Furthermore, procedures for placing corporate branding and service details on a legal entity's own vehicles have been significantly streamlined. Businesses can now submit a digital notification through the Unified Interactive State Services Portal, with the automated service provided entirely free of charge.

Observers note that these changes follow widespread friction last autumn, when district authorities reportedly dismantled numerous business signs citing a lack of advertising passports. Public complaints eventually prompted high-level discussions in May, leading to the decision to remove standard business signboards from the advertising category.
