In Bangkok, on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, a high-level meeting took place between Imad Fakhoury, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for the Middle East and Central Asia, and Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan.

The negotiations were also attended by Lissa Glaser (referenced locally as Liza Kestner), IFC Regional Head for Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, Nodirbek Ochilov, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, Jasur Karshibaev, Advisor to the Minister of Economy and Finance, and other officials. The parties purportedly reviewed the current outcomes of sweeping reforms ongoing within the country.

During the dialogue, the participants focused on expanding mutual cooperation, paying special attention to private sector development, infrastructure modernization, and public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms. Discussions covered major joint initiatives in transport, energy, water management, and social infrastructure.

Specifically, the talks addressed large-scale projects such as the construction of the Tashkent–Andijan toll motorway, the upgrading of power distribution systems and irrigation pumping stations, and the building of regional secondary schools. Following the meeting, the participants allegedly reached an agreement to strengthen multi-faceted cooperation across key strategic areas.
