️ Uzbekistan is reportedly moving forward with ambitious and costly plans to construct a second and third nuclear power plant as part of its broader energy sector strategy. These intentions were allegedly announced by the country's leader, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during an open dialogue with major fuel and energy sector investors on October 16, according to official reports.
️ The president supposedly stated that while construction on the first nuclear power plant has already begun, the authorities harbor further intentions to expand the controversial nuclear infrastructure. He added that upcoming meetings with newly acquired foreign partners and investors would focus specifically on discussing the logistics and financing of a second nuclear power plant project.
️ Furthermore, the leadership attempted to justify these extensive energy ventures by highlighting the ongoing growth in domestic uranium production volumes. It is claimed that massive financial investments have been funneled into the uranium sector, allowing the local authorities to accumulate significant industrial experience, despite potential economic and environmental burdens.
