A video circulating widely on social media has sparked public outrage, showing a representative of the Brasserie Park restaurant in Tashkent verbally abusing and threatening a teenage delivery worker. The altercation reportedly erupted after the young courier drove his vehicle through an outdoor seating extension illegally set up on the pedestrian sidewalk near the central department store (TSUM).
In the wake of the incident, officials from the Tashkent city administration conducted an immediate inspection of the establishment to evaluate compliance with public space usage regulations, specifically focusing on the requirement to maintain unobstructed pathways for pedestrians.
Representatives of the municipal authorities reported that the inspection revealed significant violations of local regulations, prompting swift enforcement measures. Officials stated that the disputed territory has now been brought back into strict compliance with the legal framework.
As proof of the enforcement action, the city administration published official photographs documenting the physical demolition and dismantling of the unauthorized restaurant extension that had blocked the public sidewalk.
Meanwhile, the Tashkent Main Directorate of Internal Affairs addressed the criminal aspect of the event, confirming that the clash between the 36-year-old restaurant representative and the 17-year-old courier occurred on October 17. Law enforcement officials noted that the suspect deliberately flouted accepted social norms by harassing a minor and disturbing public peace. An administrative protocol under Article 183 of the Administrative Responsibility Code (Petty Vandalism) has been initiated, with case files forwarded to the district criminal court.
