Law enforcement authorities in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent have detained an individual reportedly transporting a substantial consignment of restricted pharmaceutical products. During a routine inspection of the suspect's vehicle, officers discovered 978 packages of the potent drug 'Regapen' hidden within the trunk, which were subsequently confiscated as material evidence.
The special operation was conducted jointly by the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office and other relevant security structures. According to preliminary findings provided by investigators, the suspect allegedly intended to distribute and sell the medications illicitly within the capital. Authorities continue to probe the supply chain to identify other potential participants involved in this illegal enterprise.
A criminal case has been officially initiated under statutory provisions addressing the illicit trafficking of potent or toxic substances, and the investigation is currently ongoing. This incident follows a similar recent seizure in the Fergana region, where a large batch of 'Regapen' valued at millions of soms was intercepted, highlighting persistent enforcement challenges regarding prescription drug control.
