The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan has reportedly drafted a government resolution proposing the introduction of specialized law enforcement positions within private schools and higher education institutions across the country to maintain order.

According to the published draft document, the new staffing arrangements are intended to take effect starting September 1, 2026. The initiative outlines that these positions within non-state educational organizations are supposed to be funded and established using the internal resources and budgets of the institutions themselves.

The proposal specifies the introduction of senior crime prevention inspectors and senior inspectors for women's affairs in higher education institutions, while secondary and secondary-specialized institutions would see the appointment of inspector-psychologists dealing with juvenile delinquency.

The stated responsibilities of these officers allegedly include preventing offenses, violence, bullying, drug abuse, and the influence of extremist ideologies among students. They are also expected to identify and mitigate the underlying factors contributing to unlawful behavior within the educational environment.

Furthermore, the regulatory project mandates that private educational institutions must provide dedicated office space for the assigned law enforcement personnel, including undertaking necessary renovations and equipping the rooms with furniture, communication tools, and computers.
