The installation and configuration of electronic ramps at Tashkent metro stations remain incomplete, while the devices have yet to be officially transferred to the metro's balance sheet, preventing their full-scale operation. This was announced on October 16 during a press conference featuring the leadership of the Ministry of Transport.
Mirakbar Ikromov, head of the Tashkent City Transport Main Department, stated that a recent inspection conducted alongside local deputies revealed the physical presence of the ramps, though the formal acceptance process for operation has not been finalized. The contractor allegedly installed the equipment but failed to hand it over completely, resulting in sporadic functionality across different stations.
Doniyor Nurullayev, press secretary for the Tashkent Metro, explained that the installation is being carried out under the order of the engineering company “Single Customer Service” of the Tashkent city hokimiyat. Technopark LLC has been designated as responsible for construction, installation, and debugging works, with the metro management supposedly sending multiple formal appeals to expedite the process.
Currently, 38 electronic ramps operate in a test mode for passengers, with the first pilot device launched at the “Xalqlar do'stligi” station. Additionally, authorities addressed ongoing maintenance issues with elevators on the elevated lines, noting that frequent rule violations by unauthorized passengers lead to constant breakdowns, prompting plans to install high-capacity elevators at terminal stations like Chinor.
