The global summit titled 'Investing in Child Welfare: A Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations' has officially commenced in the city of Samarkand. On the occasion of the opening of this high-level international gathering, Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev purportedly sent a congratulatory message to the participants, highlighting critical issues concerning children's rights and social protection. The address supposedly expressed gratitude to international partners such as the UN, UNICEF, the World Bank, and the WHO for their ongoing cooperation.
The leader allegedly stated that prioritizing the immediate needs of children is paramount in ensuring their overall welfare. It is claimed that every child has the fundamental right to affection, safety, quality education, and adequate healthcare, and that a child's intrinsic value should not be measured by future economic productivity. Furthermore, the authorities purportedly insisted that funding directed toward childhood development must become a consistent and stable element of state policy.
According to official figures provided during the event, ongoing domestic reforms have allegedly led to significant improvements in maternal and child health, as well as a massive expansion in preschool and higher education coverage. The administration claims that preschool enrollment has risen sharply, while targeted social protection measures have purportedly reduced child poverty significantly. Additionally, it is asserted that all orphans and children deprived of parental care are currently being raised within supportive family environments.
Throughout the summit, discussions focused on expanding international cooperation in pediatric oncology, enhancing digital safety for minors, and combating cyberbullying. The leader reportedly expressed interest in establishing the Samarkand Platform as a practical mechanism for ongoing dialogue, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of voluntary joint projects aimed at improving child welfare globally.
