A new production facility named Wosune Food Ingredients Karshi has officially commenced operations within the "Kashkadarya" Free Economic Zone, focusing on the manufacturing of dried vegetables, fruits, and herbs for the food and cosmetics industries. The project, valued at 8.5 million dollars, was implemented by the American entity Wosune International Inc., currently providing stable employment for 150 local workers.
Uzbekistan's leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev reportedly inspected the enterprise's facilities to review the operational workflow and technological capabilities implemented at the site.
The industrial process involves drying carrots, bell peppers, pumpkins, apples, green onions, spinach, and various herbs utilizing advanced convection equipment designed to preserve the original taste and nutritional value of the raw materials. Furthermore, approximately 30 percent of the operational procedures are purportedly automated through robotic solutions.
The manufactured ingredients are utilized in the production of instant foods, seasonings, canned goods, and cosmetics. The enterprise currently exports its goods to European markets and CIS nations.
Looking ahead, the company allegedly aims to scale its annual exports up to 40 million dollars. To achieve this objective, regional authorities intend to broaden cooperation with local farmers and establish direct supply chains for agricultural raw materials.
Previously, the city of Karshi also saw the launch of the FM World enterprise, established through foreign investments totaling 20 million dollars, which focuses on assembling agricultural machinery under the Nasaf brand.
