The leadership of Uzbekistan has held official talks with Alexey Likhachev, the director-general of the Russian state corporation Rosatom, in Tashkent. The high-ستوى meeting focused on the ongoing efforts to construct the country's first integrated nuclear power plant utilizing advanced technologies, alongside the development of critical supporting infrastructure.

According to statements released by the Uzbek presidential press service, a significant portion of the discussions was dedicated to training qualified personnel for the nascent nuclear industry. Educational programs are purportedly already underway at the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and various Rosatom facilities.

Furthermore, the parties allegedly reviewed the prospects of establishing a dedicated 'nuclear workers' city' in the vicinity of the future power plant. The planned settlement is slated to feature energy-efficient housing, modern educational, medical, and sports facilities designed to create a comfortable social environment for specialists.

Earlier reports indicated that Uzbekistan is also exploring the feasibility of building second and third nuclear power plants. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has previously stated that he intends to discuss these potential expansions with new international partners and prospective investors.
