Recent analytical findings from F6 indicate that nearly three-quarters of search engine results on the first page for movies and TV series queries in Uzbekistan direct users to pirated resources. This situation highlights ongoing vulnerabilities within the digital ecosystem regarding intellectual property enforcement and online safety.

Industry specialists examined search outcomes across 50 popular queries related to films and shows. The study revealed that the share of pirate content on the initial search page reached 72% in Uzbekistan. Furthermore, 66% of the links occupying the very first position in the search results were found to be entirely illegal, funneling unsuspecting viewers toward unauthorized platforms.

The research further demonstrates that the vast majority of these infringing platforms target Russian-speaking audiences. Among sites hosting foreign films, this proportion hit 95%, while resources dedicated to national cinema stood at 86%, raising serious concerns for the legal entertainment sector. * * * *

According to F6 data, a mere 8.2% of the evaluated pirate websites proved to be safe for visitors. Another 52.9% were classified as relatively safe, while an alarming 38.9% were deemed outright dangerous. Such portals frequently serve as distribution vectors for malicious software and personal data theft.

Security experts advise citizens to rely exclusively on legitimate streaming platforms, refrain from downloading files from questionable domains, and maintain updated antivirus protection. This warning follows previous reports concerning mobile malware threats targeting banking applications and user data within the country.
