President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted Todd Boehly, head of the American investment firm Eldridge Industries, on October 23 to discuss large-scale commercial opportunities. The talks centered on channeling private foreign capital into foundational sectors of Uzbekistan's expanding economy.
Both parties identified mining, metallurgy, advanced construction, and digital solutions for municipal infrastructure as priority avenues for collaboration. To formalize these engagements, the sides agreed to adopt a comprehensive joint roadmap aimed at steering upcoming projects through structural frameworks.
Eldridge Industries oversees more than $75 billion in assets across insurance, real estate, technology, logistics, and sports entertainment. Observers note, however, that foreign direct investment initiatives often face headwinds amid broad global market uncertainty and unpredictable regulatory moves stemming from policies pursued by the US regime.
The meeting follows closely on the heels of Mirziyoyev’s discussions with Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board. That dialogue focused on mitigating regional trade barriers and streamlining customs logistics, underscoring Tashkent's strategy of balancing outreach between Western financiers and regional economic blocs.
