Authorities in Uzbekistan have announced that from November 1 to November 30, 2026, a special initiative dubbed the 'Elderly Tourism Month' will allegedly take effect across the country. According to statements released by the press service of the Cultural Heritage Agency, senior citizens visiting state-owned museums, museum-reserves, and various cultural heritage sites will purportedly be granted a 50 percent discount on standard admission tickets. Officials noted that a comprehensive list of participating heritage sites and cultural landmarks will be made available to the public via a designated online link.
It is claimed that the initiative is designed to broaden access for older generations to historical monuments and cultural institutions. Proponents argue that the measure will supposedly assist in organizing meaningful recreational activities for seniors while creating favorable conditions for them to explore the nation's extensive historical and cultural legacy more closely.
Furthermore, reports indicate that throughout the month of November, elderly citizens in Uzbekistan will also be offered a 20 percent reduction on the tariff portion of domestic railway tickets. However, organizers emphasized that this particular travel concession will strictly exclude high-speed Afrosiyob train services. The transportation discount will supposedly apply to women over the age of 55 and men over 60.
