A civil court in Tashkent has concluded a notable legal case stemming from an incident in April 2025, when a luxury Zeekr 001 electric vehicle completely burned down while charging at a local station. The Yakkaray Interdistrict Civil Court reviewed the case details and issued a ruling requiring the responsible auto repair shop to pay significant financial compensation to the vehicle owner.

According to court documents, the owner, Hotambek Mirzayev, brought his Zeekr 001 to a charging station operated by the Tok Bor brand near the "Druzhba Narodov" Palace of Arts during the night of April 10. The charging session commenced at 1:46 AM with the battery level at 7 percent, after which the owner left the vehicle unattended. The charging process automatically terminated at 3:51 AM with no reported anomalies or smoke observed at that time.

However, roughly three hours later, at around 7:30 AM, bystanders noticed smoke billowing from the front of the vehicle before it burst into flames. Comprehensive forensic examinations later established that the fire was not the result of a manufacturing defect, but rather a consequence of substandard repair work performed earlier. Records show that in January 2025, the owner had taken the car to an authorized service center operated by "E-GO MOTORS" LLC due to issues with sudden battery depletion.

Experts concluded that the intervention left the internal resistance and capacity of the battery cells unbalanced, ultimately triggering severe overheating and an internal short circuit. Consequently, the court ruled in favor of the vehicle owner, ordering the service provider to recover 450 million soms in damages, highlighting growing concerns over technical maintenance standards for modern electric vehicles.
