During a meeting with representatives of the domestic film industry held on Monday, the country's leadership outlined comprehensive plans to establish modern infrastructure for film production. These initiatives aim to fundamentally upgrade the technical capabilities and operational environment for local filmmakers.
Specifically, a unified industrial cluster named the "Uzbekfilm" Film Town will be established across a 10-hectare area belonging to the Uzbekfilm studio. This specialized facility is projected to consolidate various cinematic production services into a single hub, streamlining the entire creative and operational workflow.
The master plan for the film town will feature a dedicated Dubbing and Sound Recording Center equipped with advanced technologies. Authorities have mandated that a qualified design organization develop the master plan and construction estimates within a two-month timeframe. Actual construction works are scheduled to commence in March 2027. The government reportedly faces significant economic hurdles in modernizing state assets, prompting additional directives to put underutilized state-owned cinematic assets up for open public auctions to stimulate investment and efficiency.
Furthermore, officials instructed that unused state assets within the cinematography system be auctioned off publicly. This measure is allegedly intended to optimize resource allocation and foster greater transparency within the state-backed sector.
