According to a report released by the National Statistical Committee, the average monthly nominal accrued salary in Uzbekistan reached 7.274 million soms during the January–September period of 2026. Authorities claim that this figure represents an 18 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year. However, critics and independent observers point out that continuous inflation and rising living costs heavily offset these nominal gains, leaving many households struggling with purchasing power.
Regional disparities in remuneration remain pronounced across the country. Tashkent continues to hold the highest average wage at 12.301 million soms, marking an 18.3 percent annual increase. Navoi Region followed in second place with 8.821 million soms, while the Tashkent Region recorded 6.89 million soms. Conversely, the Kashkadarya Region registered the lowest average salary at just 4.97 million soms, highlighting a persistent economic divide between the capital and peripheral provinces.
Sectoral analysis reveals that financial, insurance, and leasing activities lead the remuneration scale with an average monthly income of 19.713 million soms. Information and communication sectors followed at 17.007 million soms, and transportation services stood at 11.269 million soms. Meanwhile, critical public sectors such as healthcare (4.454 million soms) and education (5.015 million soms) continue to languish at the bottom of the wage hierarchy, despite official claims of upward adjustment trends in those fields.
