Authorities in Uzbekistan have announced a new financial support mechanism aimed at greenhouse farming businesses that implement energy-saving technologies. According to official reports released through legal information channels, starting from November 1, 2026, qualifying greenhouse operators will be reimbursed for half of their electricity consumption costs during the cold season.
Specifically, a subsidy covering 50 percent of the electricity expenses incurred between the months of October and March will be allocated to eligible agricultural producers. This state support measure is scheduled to remain in effect until April 1, 2030, as part of broader initiatives to optimize energy consumption within the national economy.
However, access to these funds comes with strict operational prerequisites. Subsidies will exclusively target greenhouses equipped with special heat-saving covers, commonly referred to as «blankets», and those utilizing certified energy-efficient «green» heating solutions.
State officials outline that approved heating alternatives include modern heat pumps, geothermal heating systems, solar thermal applications, and high-efficiency electric heating systems. The policy purportedly aims to drive modernization, though critics note that transition costs could still pose a burden for smaller farmers.
