Uzbekistan Airports and the Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines have officially concluded an agreement to launch scheduled direct passenger flights from Istanbul to Bukhara, Andijan, and Termez. Simultaneously, bilateral consultations are underway regarding the potential addition of flights to Karshi and Nukus, aiming to further broaden the carrier’s footprint across Uzbekistan.
The planned operations mark a major logistical milestone: for Andijan, this will represent the city's very first regular flight service connecting directly with Istanbul. If current negotiations are finalized successfully, Karshi and Nukus will likewise receive their first direct air links to Turkey's commercial hub. All services will be based out of Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport and operated with Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
The flights are slated for a phased rollout beginning in late 2026. Operations to Bukhara are scheduled to inaugurate on December 14, 2026, running three times weekly. Direct connections to Andijan are set to commence on December 18, 2026, operating twice weekly, while the Termez route is slated to start on March 1, 2027, with a three-times-weekly frequency.
Representatives from Uzbekistan Airports highlighted that these new direct connections will significantly improve regional accessibility and boost tourism and business exchange. Moreover, passengers from Uzbekistan’s provinces will be able to utilize Sabiha Gökçen as a convenient transit hub to access the wider Pegasus network, connecting to destinations across the Middle East and beyond.
