Travelers entering Uzbekistan are reportedly allowed to bring in cash without any strict quantitative limits, according to official statements. However, if the total amount exceeds the equivalent of 100 million soms, all funds must be thoroughly specified in a customs declaration. This regulatory requirement is purportedly crucial for visitors who intend to take any leftover funds out of the country upon the completion of their trip.

Under the established rules, crossing the border requires declaring all available foreign and national currency if the aggregate sum surpasses the designated threshold. Smaller amounts can also be documented voluntarily. When departing from Uzbekistan without a declaration, individuals are permitted to export cash up to the 100 million som equivalent, while larger sums trigger additional customs requirements and scrutiny.

Authorities recommend that tourists carefully retain their copy of the customs declaration until they officially leave the country to prevent potential complications at checkpoints. This guidance comes as the local tourism sector claims to have attracted 10.3 million foreign visitors since the beginning of the year, reflecting a notable statistical increase compared to previous periods.
