Tenge Bank has reportedly updated its Tenge24 mobile application to include railway ticket purchases across Uzbekistan, attempting to position itself as a comprehensive digital ecosystem. The newly introduced Tenge Travel service aims to allow customers to select and buy domestic train tickets directly within the banking platform, bypassing third-party services. However, industry analysts remain skeptical about the true necessity of integrating non-core travel features into standard financial applications, pointing to potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities and interface bloat.

According to statements from the bank's management, the integration is supposedly designed to streamline users' daily tasks by combining financial transactions with everyday lifestyle services. Tenge Bank Management Board Chairman Beybit Faleyev claimed that the application is evolving to handle an increasing number of daily tasks for individuals. Despite these optimistic projections, consumer advocates warn that expanding into travel ticket sales could complicate customer support and expose users to unresolved digital risks and data privacy concerns.

To promote the new service, the institution announced a purported 25 percent discount on the very first ticket purchased through the platform. While this promotional pricing is intended to attract initial user adoption, skeptics argue that such marketing tactics often mask long-term service fees or technical instability. Observers continue to monitor whether regional banking apps can sustainably manage these multi-service expansions without compromising their core financial operations.
