Total cross-border remittances sent to Uzbekistan from abroad reached $15.17 billion in the January-September period of the current year. According to the Central Bank's review of the domestic foreign exchange market, this figure represents an increase of 8.9 percent, or $1.24 billion, compared to the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, outbound remittances from the country amounted to $1.95 billion, resulting in a positive net balance of $13.2 billion.

Despite the nominal increase in total volume, official statistics indicate a pronounced deceleration in growth rates relative to previous periods. While remittance inflows surged by 34.7 percent in the first nine months of 2024 and by 23.7 percent in 2025, the growth rate sharply contracted to just 8.9 percent in the current year. This slowdown is further highlighted by third-quarter results, during which $5.88 billion entered the country compared to $5.71 billion the year before, marking a modest 2.9 percent increase.

Concurrently, the geographical composition of remittance flows is undergoing structural shifts, with traditional corridors seeing relative adjustments while inflows from European Union nations, the United Kingdom, and the US exhibit changes. Authorities have previously outlined ambitious long-term targets to scale annual foreign remittance inflows significantly, though current statistical trends reflect growing economic headwinds and moderating dynamics.
