As of 07:00 on March 13, a total of 32,934 Uzbek citizens have been repatriated from Middle Eastern countries since the start of military actions by the US and Israeli regimes against Iran. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this, emphasizing that the activities of diplomatic missions are ongoing.
In recent days, on March 12, the embassy in Qatar facilitated the transfer of 49 citizens to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, after which they flew to Tashkent. Currently, a next group of citizens is being formed, with arrangements being made for their return to Uzbekistan via Dubai from Doha.
Diplomatic missions in the UAE and Saudi Arabia are also actively engaged: missions in the UAE assisted 147 citizens in flying to Tashkent, while the embassy in Saudi Arabia, the consulate general in Jeddah, and the Ministry of Transport in collaboration ensured the return of 2,735 citizens through charter flights. Evacuation measures in this country have been completed.
The embassy in Iran secured the exit of 5 compatriots through neighboring countries' territories, and diplomats in Israel organized the return of 4 citizens to Uzbekistan via Egypt. Flights are being operated by both Uzbek and foreign airlines, with the Ministry of Transport noting that the absolute majority of those repatriated are tourists.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "The activities of diplomatic missions to ensure the safe return of Uzbek citizens to their homeland continue. Work with citizens who have expressed a desire to return is ongoing." It is recalled that since February 28, when the war began, airspace over Bahrain, Kuwait, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Qatar, and Israel remains closed, complicating the repatriation process.
