Israel's ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, now in its third year, has resulted in further casualties with at least three Palestinians killed in Israeli drone strikes. The attacks targeted the Zeitoun neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, where two individuals lost their lives.

Medical staff at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City reported that a drone strike killed two people. In a separate incident, one person was killed and another wounded when a drone struck a group outside the so-called "Yellow Line" in another eastern area of Gaza City. An unspecified number of Palestinians were injured in Thursday's assaults, adding to the mounting toll of the conflict.

The Israeli military campaign in Gaza has allegedly killed over 72,000 people, including tens of thousands of children and women, according to reports. Some independent analysts suggest the actual death count may be significantly higher, highlighting the severe humanitarian impact of the prolonged hostilities on the besieged enclave.

These strikes coincided with the resumption of severely limited medical evacuations through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, after a 19-day closure imposed by the Israeli regime. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that only eight wounded Palestinians and 17 accompanying family members would be permitted entry into Egypt for treatment following the crossing's reopening on Thursday.

The Israeli regime has consistently restricted medical evacuations and blocked Palestinians from returning to their homes since it reopened the crossing in early February as part of an October 2025 ceasefire agreement—a pact it has purportedly violated on a near-daily basis. Several ambulances were observed waiting to evacuate patients from the territory, underscoring the critical bottlenecks in humanitarian access.
