Iran, in an asymmetrical war against the US and Israeli regimes, is employing a strategy of 'taking hostage' the global economy. This approach focuses on increasing pressure through attacks on energy infrastructure in the Persian Gulf region. Iran's key limitations include a lack of long-range missiles and strong allies, forcing it to target neighboring states' energy assets. Oibek Sirojov noted that these attacks have yielded some results, as US President Donald Trump allegedly issued warnings of harsh retaliation, signaling a threat to the global energy system.

Shavkat Ikromov argued that Iran's strikes on oil and gas fields in the Gulf are a relatively effective and forced tactic. The US regime, under Iranian pressure, has purportedly been compelled to ease its sanctions policy. For instance, the US has periodically softened sanctions on Russian oil, temporarily suspended the Jones Act, and even partially lifted sanctions on Iranian oil. These decisions were supposedly made to mitigate a potential global energy crisis but have faced criticism from European states and raised questions in US domestic politics.

Kamoliddin Rabbimov highlighted two main points in Iran's strategy: securing its political system and maximizing impact on the world economy. In practice, Iran is attempting to hold the global economy hostage and is reportedly beginning to achieve its goal, with crude oil prices exceeding $100 per barrel. If the conflict continues, oil prices could reach $200, severely affecting countries like Uzbekistan and potentially triggering a global economic recession.

Shukhrat Rasul criticized Iran's actions, stating that bombing the economic infrastructure of neighbors could have catastrophic consequences, including damage to Uzbekistan's economy and famine for 350 million people. He questioned Iran's lack of allies and its role in global affairs. Oibek Sirojov responded by suggesting that questions should be directed at those who initiated aggression against Iran, intensifying the debate.
