Border guards in Uzbekistan have intercepted a drug trafficking channel originating from Afghanistan. During a patrol along the Amu Darya river in the border zone, a foreign national was detained while attempting to illegally cross the state border by boat.
The detainee was identified as a 51-year-old citizen of Afghanistan, a native of Kunduz province. Upon inspection of the vessel, two bags were found containing ten tightly packed bundles. Expert analysis confirmed that the seized substance was hashish with a total weight of 10.3 kilograms. The narcotics were confiscated and processed as material evidence in accordance with established procedural norms.
Currently, the Investigative Department of the State Security Service for Surkhandarya Region has initiated a criminal case against the detainee. As part of the investigation, operational measures are being conducted to identify all individuals involved in organizing this channel for the supply of prohibited substances.
