In Tashkent, the construction of four artificial lakes and reservoirs is planned by the end of 2026. This was announced by the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, citing a corresponding presidential decree. The project is part of efforts to improve the city's ecological situation and combat climate change.
According to the document, starting from April 1, at least one fountain will be built on the territories of state higher education institutions in the capital, totaling up to 15. Additionally, each district of the city is set to have at least one fountain constructed in accordance with urban planning norms. These measures aim to enhance the urban environment and promote efficient use of water resources.
Furthermore, based on the study of positive international experience, technologies for artificial precipitation enhancement and artificial wind creation will be gradually implemented. These technologies are intended to replenish water resources during dry periods and positively impact air quality.
By October 1, 2027, necessary equipment will be installed in areas with low humidity in Tashkent and the Tashkent region to improve atmospheric air quality. These initiatives are designed to ensure public health and ecological sustainability, marking a significant component of urban development.
