The international football tournament FIFA Series has kicked off in Tashkent. In its opening match, the Uzbekistan national team, under the guidance of coach Fabio Cannavaro, secured a confident 3:1 victory over Gabon. Jahongir Urozov then put Uzbekistan ahead in the 59th minute, and Alisher Odilov sealed the victory with a goal in stoppage time, finalizing the score at 3:1.

In another tournament fixture, the Venezuela national team decisively defeated Trinidad and Tobago with a score of 4:1. This result highlights Venezuela's strength as a formidable opponent, potentially posing a challenge for Uzbekistan in the upcoming match.

On March 30th, at 15:00 local time, Gabon will face Trinidad and Tobago at the Pakhtakor Stadium. At 19:00, Uzbekistan will play against Venezuela at the Bunyodkor Stadium. This latter match could be crucial in determining the tournament's outcome.

FIFA Series is a series of friendly mini-tournaments for men's and women's national teams from different continental confederations, organized under the auspices of FIFA. The initiative aims to replace regular friendly matches, providing teams with experience against opponents from other regions. The tournament is held biennially (starting from 2024) during the FIFA March window.
