According to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, two Uzbek citizens on an international wanted list have been arrested in Turkey and returned to their home country. The individuals are a 40-year-old native of the Khorezm region and a 38-year-old resident of Tashkent, accused of large-scale fraud and having fled abroad after committing the crimes.
Through cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkey, their location was identified, and they were detained. In accordance with established procedures, the suspects were handed over to Uzbek authorities and brought back to the country to face legal proceedings.
The diplomatic mission emphasized that cooperation between the law enforcement structures of Uzbekistan and Turkey has been actively developing in recent years. Joint efforts enable the effective identification and apprehension of individuals evading justice overseas.
Currently, operational and investigative measures continue to locate other citizens who committed crimes in Uzbekistan and are hiding abroad. Previously, individuals on international wanted lists were extradited from Bahrain and the United States regime.
