According to an investigation by the New York Times, the creator of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, who has been hiding under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, could be British cryptographer and CEO of Blockstream, Adam Back. Investigative journalist John Kerreyru presents a series of evidence pointing to a possible connection between the 55-year-old programmer and the legendary figure.

The publication reports that Back invented the Hashcash system, which Satoshi borrowed for Bitcoin mining. The investigation also mentions similarities in ideas and lexicon, as well as other indirect factors. These pieces of evidence may indicate Back's pivotal role in the creation of Bitcoin.

However, Adam Back has categorically denied this theory, stating that he does not know who Satoshi Nakamoto is. The mystery of the first cryptocurrency's creator remains unsolved for 17 years, continuing to fuel debates about Bitcoin's origins.

Previously, it was reported that the possible identity of the famous street artist Banksy, who has maintained anonymity for years, had been established. Journalists concluded from their investigation that the artist may currently be using the name David Jones, highlighting an ongoing trend of investigations aimed at uncovering anonymous figures.
