Law enforcement agencies in collaboration with the State Security Service have dismantled a criminal group in the Fergana Region of Uzbekistan that was organizing a channel to send women to Russia for exploitation. The perpetrators recruited victims by promising them high-paying jobs abroad. The investigation revealed that two women, aged 34 and 20, had been targeted by this criminal scheme.

The suspects were apprehended in a joint operation at Tashkent International Airport during check-in for a flight for which tickets had already been purchased. Three individuals were detained on suspicion of human trafficking: a woman from Nizhny Novgorod and two accomplices from the Fergana and Kushtepa districts.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan ("Human Trafficking"). Investigative actions are currently underway to establish all circumstances of the crime. This incident highlights the ongoing issue of human trafficking in the region and underscores the critical need for coordinated efforts to combat such exploitation networks.
