An armed attack occurred on April 14 at the Ahmet Koyunju Vocational High School in the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa province, southeastern Turkey. The assailant entered the school building with a hunting rifle and opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in at least 16 people injured. According to provincial governor Hasan Şıldak, the wounded include 10 students, four teachers, one police officer, and one cafeteria worker.

The governor stated that the attacker was a former student of the school, born in 2007. He died by suicide as police attempted to neutralize him. The incident took place during the day, causing chaos and panic within the educational institution.

Turkey's Ministry of Interior announced that an investigation has been launched into the incident. While the motives and causes of the attack remain unclear, this event has once again highlighted concerns over school safety and armed violence in the country.
