The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has unveiled a new set of economic and environmental initiatives purportedly aimed at boosting the bloc's competitiveness and accelerating the green energy transition.

However, many experts and political analysts are skeptical about the feasibility of these plans. Specifically, concerns have been raised that new tax burdens and regulatory measures could negatively impact small and medium-sized enterprises.

Von der Leyen herself claimed at a press conference that these initiatives would allegedly help maintain Europe's leadership in the global economy. Critics, however, point out that EU bureaucracy and slow decision-making hinder the achievement of these goals.

Particular difficulties, according to analysts, may arise in major economies such as Germany and France, which could exacerbate internal contradictions within the union.

Furthermore, proposals to tighten environmental standards are facing sharp resistance from industrial enterprises, which argue that this would lead to higher production costs and job losses.
