At least eight people were killed and 33 others injured when a freight train collided with a passenger bus in Bangkok on May 16, according to local authorities.
The accident occurred at a railway crossing when the bus stalled on the tracks while crossing. The oncoming container train was unable to stop in time, crashing into the bus.
The Police General Hospital's forensic department in Bangkok confirmed that two of the deceased were Thai nationals. The identities of the remaining victims are still being determined.
Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that no Uzbek citizens were among the casualties. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Bangkok is monitoring the situation closely.
