Basketball legend Michael Jordan recorded a video message for departing Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, shown during a farewell event that included an open-top bus parade through Manchester and an after-party at the Co-op Live arena in front of 19,000 fans.

In the message, Jordan congratulated Guardiola on an 'unbelievable career' and wished him luck in golf. Guardiola leaves City after a record-breaking decade in which he won 17 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League.

Former City captain Vincent Kompany (now Bayern Munich coach) and Oasis star Noel Gallagher attended in person. Women's team record scorer Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw announced a new four-year contract, ending speculation about a move to Chelsea.

Striker Erling Haaland vowed the team would continue to fight for trophies despite the departures of Guardiola, Bernardo Silva, and John Stones. 'It has been an up-and-down season, but we are going to try to keep pushing and fight to win the biggest trophies,' he said.

Guardiola took the stage with all 20 trophies won during his tenure and thanked fans. 'Thank you so much for coming here tonight to say bye. I've felt the connection that this club has from the first minute,' he said.

At Sunday's final match, Guardiola spoke emotionally about his 95-year-old father Valentin attending the game. 'Imagine as a dad, at 95, to feel how these people love his son,' he said. His daughter Maria also shared a heartfelt Instagram post about the memories and family moments.
