Virat Kohli's unbeaten 75 off 42 balls, featuring nine fours and three sixes, powered Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their second consecutive Indian Premier League title with a five-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Bengaluru restricted Gujarat to 155-8 before chasing down the target with 12 balls to spare. Kohli, who reached his fifth half-century of the season, sealed victory with a six and was named player of the match.

"Stuff you dream of. Thought of this moment many times, wanting to hit the winning run," said the 37-year-old Kohli. "The team we have gives confidence to see any kind of situation through."

Captain Rajat Patidar joined MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma as the only IPL captains to win back-to-back titles. Celebrating his 33rd birthday, Patidar said, "This year was more calm with the way we played throughout the tournament."

Bengaluru's pace attack set up the win, with Rasikh Salam taking 3-27, while Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar claimed two wickets each. Washington Sundar's defiant 50 not out was the only resistance for Gujarat.

Teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, 15, won the Orange Cap with 776 runs and was named player of the tournament and emerging player. Kohli finished fourth in the run charts with 675.
