On June 8, a tragic accident occurred at the Istanbul University tram stop in the Laleli district of Fatih, Istanbul, resulting in the death of 6-year-old Uzbek citizen Muhammad M.M., according to the Consulate General in Istanbul.

The deceased had arrived in Turkey as a tourist with his parents and relatives. Preliminary reports indicate that after exiting the tram, the minor became trapped between the platform and the tracks and sustained fatal injuries when the vehicle moved.

Turkish law enforcement authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident. The Consulate General expressed condolences to the family and stated that it is taking measures to provide necessary consular and legal assistance.

The consulate also urged parents not to leave minors unattended and to pay special attention to their safety, given the heavy traffic and busy public transport infrastructure of Istanbul as a metropolis.
