A total of 13 people have been killed in airstrikes by Pakistani forces in Afghanistan, according to Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid. The strikes targeted the provinces of Kunar, Khost, and Paktika.

In a post on social media platform X, Mujahid stated that Pakistan once again violated Afghanistan's airspace. Residential homes were bombed, killing 11 children, one woman, and one elderly man. Another 14 women and children were wounded.

Relations between the two countries deteriorated sharply in October last year, when the Pakistani Air Force struck Kabul, prompting Afghanistan to announce a 'retaliation operation'. The sides exchanged airstrikes for a week before agreeing to a ceasefire brokered by Qatar and Turkey.

In late February, Afghanistan launched an operation along the entire Durand Line (a border unrecognized by Kabul) in response to the bombings. Islamabad declared an open war against the Taliban. The situation remains highly volatile.
