The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is demanding the resignation of India's Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged exam irregularities. Founder Abhijeet Dipke called for a protest at Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Meanwhile, the Indian government confirmed that three Indian sailors were killed after a US attack on a tanker off Oman. India's Foreign Ministry summoned a top US diplomat to lodge a strong protest.

US forces fired on the vessel allegedly attempting to breach a blockade with Iranian oil. India earlier condemned the attack on the commercial vessel Settebello.

The CJP held its first major street protest in New Delhi last Saturday. The party warned of an indefinite sit-in at Jantar Mantar from June 20 if the minister does not resign.

The CJP gave the government a seven-day ultimatum, threatening to spread the movement nationwide if no action is taken.
