US pop star Ariana Grande has demanded that President Donald Trump's administration stop using her music to promote its policies, Reuters reported.

The statement came after the White House shared a video on TikTok earlier this week highlighting its immigration policy. The video, which shows federal agents arresting people and putting them in handcuffs, used Grande's 2024 song 'Bye'. The caption read: 'Bye-bye. President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history.'

The video depicts officers handcuffing individuals, escorting them to vehicles, and then placing them in detention facilities.

'Please, never use my music for such barbaric, inhumane, and disgusting nonsense,' Grande wrote in a comment on the White House's TikTok video on Thursday. A source close to the singer said her team is looking for ways to remove the music from the video as quickly as possible.

White House press secretary Abigail Jackson responded to Grande: 'We'll say this one last time: the real barbarism, inhumanity, and disgust are the criminal illegal migrants who harm and kill innocent US citizens.'

After Grande's response, the video's audio was muted and her comment was removed. Subsequently, several users commented on the post noting that Grande's comment had disappeared and the video's audio was turned off.

The White House video was released after Donald Trump signed a bill allocating over $70 billion to fund immigration agencies for the remaining two and a half years of his presidency, BBC News added.

Grande, a singer and Oscar-nominated actress, also criticized the Trump administration last year by sharing a post on Instagram asking people who voted for Trump whether their lives had improved since he returned to power.

Last year, Sabrina Carpenter also wrote after the White House used her 2024 song 'Juno' in a video compilation of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations: 'Never use me or my music for the interests of your inhumane agenda.'

ABBA, Celine Dion, and Beyoncé were also among the artists who demanded that Trump's team not use their music during his 2024 re-election campaign, including at campaign rallies.
