British Transport Police reported on Friday that they were responding to a train collision near Bedford, a market town about 90 kilometers north of London.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene. The East of England Ambulance Service urged the public to avoid the area.

Unverified footage on social media appeared to show two East Midlands Railway (EMR) trains colliding, with one running into the other. The trains reportedly remained upright on the tracks.

EMR confirmed an incident between London St Pancras and Leicester but provided no further details. British media reported that passengers were injured, though authorities have not yet disclosed the extent of injuries.
