Morocco twice came from behind to defeat Haiti 4-2 in a thrilling World Cup match in Atlanta, but missed out on top spot in Group C to Brazil on goal difference.

Haiti scored their first World Cup goals in 52 years, with an own goal by Yassine Bounou and a stunning strike from Wilson Isidor giving them the lead twice in the first half.

Achraf Hakimi and Ismael Saibari (his third goal in as many games) equalized before halftime. Soufiane Rahimi and Gessime Yassine scored in the second half to secure the win for Morocco.

Morocco finished second in the group and will head to Monterrey for a likely Round of 32 clash against the Netherlands or Japan.

Haiti exited the tournament without a point, but their performances at their first World Cup since 1974 earned praise from fans.

Morocco captain Hakimi continued to play despite learning during the tournament that he faces trial on rape charges in France.
