The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported early Tuesday that an oil tanker was struck by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz, causing a fire on the port side while the vessel was traveling southbound. The incident occurred east of Limah, Oman, with no casualties reported.

US outlet Axios, citing a US official, claimed that Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) carried out strikes on two commercial ships transiting the strait. Both vessels reportedly suffered significant damage, though no casualties or environmental impact were recorded.

The attack took place despite a ceasefire between the US and Iran and ongoing negotiations to end the war between the two countries. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, particularly for the energy industry.

During negotiations, the US regime allegedly tried to persuade Iran to return to pre-war conditions allowing free passage through the strait, but Tehran rejected this. Instead, Iran has threatened action against ships using routes outside an authorized corridor along its coastline and has proposed a fee system for vessels using the strait, which the US regime opposes.
