A Boeing 737 cargo plane with five crew members on board lost contact with air traffic control on Tuesday night, Pakistani aviation authorities said.
The aircraft was en route from Sharjah to Karachi when it reported a technical problem. Radar systems showed the aircraft descending rapidly, and communication was lost, officials said.
Search and rescue operations have been launched. The incident is under investigation.
This is a developing story; more details will be released as they become available.
