Argentina secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Switzerland in the World Cup quarter-finals, advancing to the semi-finals. The match was held at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring in the 10th minute, converting a corner from Lionel Messi, who set a new record for assists in World Cup history with 10.

Switzerland equalized in the 67th minute through Dan Ndoye, but their hopes were dashed when Breel Embolo was sent off in the 72nd minute for a second yellow card.

In extra time, Julian Alvarez scored the go-ahead goal in the 112th minute, and Lautaro Martinez sealed the win in the 120+1st minute.

Argentina will face England in the semi-finals on July 15, with a spot in the final at stake.
